Tips for diamond dust
Diamond dust became really popular with Warhol who was the first person to use it. It’s basically ground glass rather than diamonds and when scattered across a print it gives an incredible glittery effect to the print. I have tried using it but my diamond dust is coarse, and I have to use a pestle & mortar to make it finer. Adding to the print is messy and involves dropping the dust from a height onto the print, which has a light coating of spray glue. Or you can mix it into your ink (I have never tried this). One of my pieces is PCP (“Angel Dust”) with diamond dust applied to the wings. The dust really elevates the print. If anyone has any tips on how to get an even spread across a print I would love to hear them!
